‘Thelonious’ is merely a working title and reffers to (of course) the latest WordPress release.
Although I upgraded all my WP installments, I will use the Snowdrops and Daffodils (1) as a playground and (2) as a sort-of-tumblr thingy.

So I created a (local) WordPress30 site …
using the new default Twenty Ten theme.
And I am turning it around and around …
hammering, hitting, slapping and smashing the bloody thing.
No glitches sofar.
When it is released I’m gonna rebuild my present theme on 3.0.
See if I can get it all a bit lighter and smaller.

Not bad, and so it should be, after that somewhat indifferent ‘Pictures‘.
Don’t know if this is her best thus far, but songs like ‘The Flood’, ‘Red Balloons’ and the title song ‘The House’ are refreshing and bold enough.
So … well done, fair lady!

Anyway, the technique is simple. Changed all images into background images and added classes for the different dimensions, like this (the 150 x 150 images on the index page):

OK … I activated the new theme! I learned that even Opera obeys the new properties now. That’ll do.

Whilst pottering I listened to the Earth & Fire debut album (uhuh, we are talking vinyl here!).

Yes, I own that legendary cover. ‘Earth & Fire’ was also released in Germany and the UK. There a cover design by Roger Dean was used.

I decided I needed their second record too. Never ever bought ‘Song of the Marching Children‘.
So I visited a few second-hand vinyl stores this afternoon … but ended alas with the cd:

Was nauwelijks aan te komen, maar uiteindelijk had ik ergens een vage duitse DVD release gevonden … ! Koesteren die hap, al schijnt er nu een Blu-ray uit te zijn.
Op Het Net circuleert alleen – meen ik – deze (nog vager) kopie op You-Tube.

Dat ziet er best puik uit … al is het slechts gefröbel … want i.i.g. niet meer PIXEL-PERFECT: in Firefox gaat ie goed, maar in MIE en Chrome bv. schuift de header-image ietsjes vanwege de breadcrumbs css. Da’s fijn, want dan heb ik nog wat te sleutelen.

Een valide vraag is uiteraard waar dit allemaal voor nodig is. Pardon? Nodig? Neu, maar ik was wel op zoek naar een aardige BlogRoll (= A list of other blogs that a blogger might recommend by providing links to them (usually in a sidebar list).) oplossing.
