What’s it gonna be when posting media? Instead of using LightBox 2 or SmoothGallery I tried the Shadowbox.js Media Viewer. And yes, there exists a Shadowbox JS WordPress Plugin. Some possibilities below. Very cool! The default navigation icons are a bit small but I’ll let them be. You can use both left and right arrow keys to navigate and the Esc key to close the ShadowBox. Of course Javascript must be enabled, but the site isn’t screwed up when not. 20071808-276-300x225.jpg20060702_2-337.jpg

Using Shadowbox JS to view both original-sized photos, as posted here. 20071808-384

Using Shadowbox JS to view three original-sized photos from one ‘Cool Guys’ album. Blown about elderly doggie on splendid beach

This is great indeed! Using Shadowbox JS to view a Picasa Slideshow. As said, Javascript must be enabled, but Javascript is needed to let the Picasa Slideshows work to begin with – as most Sliders, Gliders and other gimmicks do.

Viewing the Skiermûntseach (see also Lytje Pole 2009) Picasa Album, where I quickly added 13 miscellaneous images, taken over a period of years.
Sjoekie’s portrait was done on May 17, 2005 and I was very pleased with the result. The picture was titled “Blown about elderly doggie on splendid beach“.
The photo showing two beautiful girls Elke & Lisa is taken by two beautiful girls Elke & Lisa.

Let me finish with Media support. Michael J. I. Jackson writes on his support pages: “Although Shadowbox supports many types of video, it is recommended that all video be displayed in this (FLV) format because it will have the most uniform result across different platforms. QuickTime and Windows Media Player each have their bugs and quirks that are difficult to iron out.”. So I converted the GrindHouse trailer from MOV to FLV. Have a go! I discovered Shadowbox.js yesterday evening. Started to play with it … and suddenly noticed it was dawning again. Nice. If you download the full Shadowbox distribution it is probably good to know there exists a ShadowBox forum too. When running WordPress, simply install the WP Plugin. Hassle Free!

Hi!

That’s Very nice! In the near future i will create a blogspot
and i don’t know… it’s possible to use these plugins in there?

Hi Bubyoz,

Yep, it is possible to use plugins with BlogSpot blogs.
You must have a place to publish the needed scripts, though.
I use the LIGHTBOX (for instance) in my ‘The Blogger Workshop‘: see the post ‘LightBox Test …‘.

Regards, Thur.

Thanx the Reply Thur!

I’m sorry to disturbing you again :D, but i have some more questions!
If you have some free time to a dumb like me – i really thankful for the help!

So i know lightbox and multibox but somehow they don’t move the screen, when i move up or down :(! And i don’t figured out how to use other overlay plugins like Shadowbox or Fancybox or … or …!

So thats my question: Can i use these …boxes or they just work wordpress!?

I’m sorry to bothering you!

thanx the answer!
bye!

Hi Bubyoz,

No problem.
But to be honest: I don’t know how to put this more clearly as already stated!
All these …boxes do work with either WordPress or Blogger or whatnot.
But while Blogger does not allow you to upload a javascript library you have to have your own place on the Net to install this library.
And then add the needed files in the HEADER section of your template … like this:

(a LIGHTBOX example)

<script src=’YOURURL/lightbox/js/prototype.js’ type=’text/javascript’></script>
<script src=’YOURURL/lightbox/js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects,builder’ type=’text/javascript’></script>
<script src=’YOURURL/lightbox/js/lightbox.js’ type=’text/javascript’></script>
<link href=’YOURURL/lightbox/css/lightbox.css’ media=’screen’ rel=’stylesheet’ type=’text/css’/>

Ohh … and I have no idea what you mean with “but somehow they don’t move the screen, when i move up or down”?

Regards, Thur
